Zog’s Dogs is turning the big numero uno and celebrating by handing out free hot dogs to one and all on Tuesday, July 20th.  Click on the coupon for a printable version.

It’s been a great year of hijinx, tomfoolery, and ballyhoo.  Not to mention, some straight up delicious hot doggery.  Thank you very much to our wonderful customers for your patronage, we greatly appreciate it!

As far as internet accolades go, Zog’s Dogs could think of none better than being held in higher esteem than Keyboard Cat.  Keyboard cat is sort of a hero to Zog.  And now so is The Hot Dog I Ate blog.

The University of Michigan has, after much scientific rigor, factually declared Zog’s Dogs the “King of Hot Dogs” in the United States of America. Like that.

Serving as the Zog’s Dogs 2010 Fellow, Paul Pescador conducted Kneel/Walk Away on March 24th, 2010 at Zog’s Dogs. In this piece, two actors were given two scripts to perform at Zog’s Dogs. In one situation, a couple purchased a hot dog and got engaged in front of Zog’s Dogs. In the other, a couple purchased a hot dog and broke up in front of Zog’s Dogs. These situations were rotated, and performed every 30 minutes.

This performance was part of a larger body of work surrounding situational actions that occur in public and private settings. Mr. Pescador’s small ephemeral gestures explore social interventions in non-traditional performances spaces, such as apartments, storefronts, and public streets.

Paul Pescador is the Zog’s Dogs 2010 fellow. He is an artist and filmmaker. He is a Studio Art MFA candidate at University of California, Irvine. His actions, gestures and performances deal with issues of social disconnection and communal space. He has most recently exhibited at Performing Public Space, Casa de Tunnel, Tijuana, Mexico, Workspace Selects, House of Genesee, Los Angeles, CA, and Thank You, Outpost for Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. He is also the co-director of workspace, a project space in Lincoln Heights.

Zog’s Dogs would like to officially announce the selection of its international Hot Dog Stand Fellowship competition. Zog’s Dogs is proud to name artist Paul Pescador as its 2010 Fellow.  Mr. Pescador is based in Southern California, and more information about his oeuvre can be found here.

His artistic fellowship will be taking place this month.  More information to follow.
