Celebrate Thanksgiving at a hot dog stand by trying our new turkey sausage doused in mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce, all on a sesame roll. Eat this one with a fork, and wash it down with a shot of Maker’s from the House of Shields, right around the corner. Zog’s ♥ Pocahontas.
The Bay Bridge might be falling down, but free hot dogs are coming up! Represent public transportation in this much needed time, show us your BART ticket, and get a free Bay Bridge dog: one of our finest Zog’s Dogs, broken in half. We’re right next to the Montgomery BART stop.

No purchase necessary. One per a customer, while supplies last. May not be combined with any other offer. Zog’s Dogs does not endorse broken bridges, but does endorse giving free food to those who must suffer through the consequences.
Zog’s Dogs celebrated its grand opening with straight funk from the Cougar Cadet Corps Drumline, in addition to a performance by a breakdancing hot dog, and a proclamation from Mayor Gavin Newsom declaring 10/16/09 Zog’s Dogs Day in San Francisco. Check out the Cougar Cadet Corp Drumline in action:
Zog’s Dogs is proud to announce a fellowship at our humble hot dog shack. The selected fellow will be given full access to the shack for 24 hours, necessary training, and food, to facilitate the most creative and evocative use of the restaurant.
Zog’s is a strong supporter of artistic endeavors, and creative proposals that reimagine the hot dog, the restaurant experience, and food in general, are encouraged. Full information on the fellowship can be found here.
Zog recommends the classic novel, A Confederacy of Dunces, by John Kennedy Toole. A loved piece of American Literature, A Confederacy of Dunces follows the travails of tragicomic hero Ignatius J. Reilly, and his quixotic journey through life in New Orleans’ French Quarter.
Most importantly to Zog, Reilly procures a job as a hot dog street vendor that he executes with great pride and dignity in the name of the hot dog arts. While navigating his cart by way of stray cats and neighborhood punk kids, Reilly never loses site of the simple pleasure and beauty of the hot dog in an ever complicated world.
A Confederacy of Dunces is the tale of a man of great ambition, often misunderstood, and yet dedicated to the hot dog, and sharing its inherent joy with the world. For this Zog’s salutes him, and gives A Confederacy of Dunces the Zog’s Dog stamp of approval.
“In a city boasting such a wide range of culinary delights, you wouldn’t expect many bases to be left uncovered. Not so, according to Jesse Herzog, the owner of Zog’s Dogs, a new hot dog shack straddling the Market Street edge of One Post Plaza downtown. “As amazing as this city is, San Francisco can’t do bar food, not the way the Midwest and East Coast do wings and hot dogs.” -Adam David Cole
“Tucked behind the FiDi’s One Post building (where Post, Market, and Montgomery meet) is Zog’s Dogs, a new, bright yellow stand serving up an array of dogs and widely sourced sausages. Prices range from $3 for a corn dog to $6 for the Prop 8 Dog (two wieners snuggling in one bun). The quarter-pound sausages include hot links, spicy Italian Calabrese, bratwurst, lemon chicken, and low-fat turkey spiced with peppers and cilantro.” -Meredith Brody
